The Power of Mantras

A mantra is a word or a sound that one uses in meditation to help them focus more greatly. The unfocused human mind is bombarded with countless thoughts, worries, memories, reminders, to do lists and work priorities that it can be difficult to find silence within the mind. Most people are so used to this endless internal chatter that they have forgotten what it can feel like and what one can achieve when they recall and regain their capacity for true focus.

Mantras can be a helpful starting point as they help us shift our focus from the collective noise of our minds and assists in focusing on one repeated vowel, word or chant. There are tons of stories in books, television and movies about masters giving their disciples specific mantras for their own personal use in meditation however we believe if you are sincere about starting your path to self awareness and focus it’s okay to pick one for yourself.
